Today was a nice day. I woke at about. . . 7:49 AM. I signed onto MSN about 20 minutes later, of course, to say hi to my princess, Mandy ~ After a while, my mom and I headed to my favorite place in Seattle, Uwajimaya. Uwajimaya is located in Seattle, in the International Market area. It's an Asian market, that sells just about any Japanese food you can think of. They also have a little bookstore called Kinokuniya Bookstore, that sells a crapload of Otaku stuff. They sell everything from The Twilight Saga translated into Japanese to English copies of manga. It's my favorite place to go to stock up on Japanese imports that you could only find online around here. This includes:
My Vampire Knight and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya art books
And my Itsuki Koizumi Character Soundtrack
. . . And that's about it.
But I do buy a ton of things there. Like Figma. They have a ton of Figma. They also have many little gift-like items that you could spend hours looking at. It seems like each time I go there I find something new! (Well duh, because they're always getting new imports.) I'm still looking for the Drama CD's though. . . Those would be nice to have. . .
Another fun thing about Uwajimaya is that they have a foodcourt-- Yes, a foodcourt.
They of course have their own Deli, along selections of Thai food, Japanese soups and ramen, Korean food, Hawaii food, and even a Herfey's Burgers. My mom and I had orignally planned to eat at the court today, I was hoping to get some ramen(It smelt so good, and it comes in these giant bowls, and with those cool Japanese-soup-eating spoons! -fangirls~)
But, my mom figured it was too crowded so we ate at South Center instead.
Anyway--
Our purchases for the day included:
Cream horns(My favoriteee ~ )
Sushi(They have the BEST sushi.)
Japanese sodas
Rainbow dangos(We'll see if I can cook them right this time.)
Japanese candies
Japanese cheese-flavored chips
Pocky(Milk chocolate.)
Soup-eating bowls
Laterns for my room(One white one with black cranes, and a red one)
and Japanese tea cups.
We probably got some other things too, but they've slipped my mind.
I'd say we had a nice trip, but it was very crowded at the Japanese Market today. Apparantly, they were celebrating the Chinese New Year. They had people dancing underneath those giant dragons, and drums and everything. They even danced their way through the store. And when we first arrived, the ambulence was there because this poor old lady had fallen and needed help getting up . . .
Once we went to South Center, my mom and I ate at the foodcourt there. I was still in the mood for some soup, so I ended up getting Pho Beef Noodle soup while my mom got some red curry and Pho Thai. It was pretty good, but I got a little sad because I could have gotten Fish n' Chips or a Chicken Soft Taco if I looked around. . . After we ate, I took a quick stop at Hot Topic to buy a Hunger Games Tshirt. (District 12 Tribute, anyone?) When we got home, I continued relaxing and talking to Mandy and Mallory. I stumbled upon The Sora Show, which is hilarious. After Mandy left to get some rest, I made myself some Green Tea and used those new tea cups we had bought. And now I sit here writing this update, waiting until tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day!
Goodnight, everyone ~
A while ago, my friend and I had a cosplay photoshoot before Thanksgiving, because my area of Washington got a visit from Jack Frost early. I'd always wanted to do a photoshoot in the snow, so my friend agreed to do one with me. She cosplayed as Russia from Hetalia Axis Powers and I cosplayed as Kaname Kuran from Vampire Knight. Here are the photos!
We came in for some snacks ~
