Today was a nice day. I woke at about. . . 7:49 AM. I signed onto MSN about 20 minutes later, of course, to say hi to my princess, Mandy ~ After a while, my mom and I headed to my favorite place in Seattle, Uwajimaya. Uwajimaya is located in Seattle, in the International Market area. It's an Asian market, that sells just about any Japanese food you can think of. They also have a little bookstore called Kinokuniya Bookstore, that sells a crapload of Otaku stuff. They sell everything from The Twilight Saga translated into Japanese to English copies of manga. It's my favorite place to go to stock up on Japanese imports that you could only find online around here. This includes:
My Vampire Knight and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya art books
And my Itsuki Koizumi Character Soundtrack
. . . And that's about it.
But I do buy a ton of things there. Like Figma. They have a ton of Figma. They also have many little gift-like items that you could spend hours looking at. It seems like each time I go there I find something new! (Well duh, because they're always getting new imports.) I'm still looking for the Drama CD's though. . . Those would be nice to have. . .
Another fun thing about Uwajimaya is that they have a foodcourt-- Yes, a foodcourt.
They of course have their own Deli, along selections of Thai food, Japanese soups and ramen, Korean food, Hawaii food, and even a Herfey's Burgers. My mom and I had orignally planned to eat at the court today, I was hoping to get some ramen(It smelt so good, and it comes in these giant bowls, and with those cool Japanese-soup-eating spoons! -fangirls~)
But, my mom figured it was too crowded so we ate at South Center instead.
Anyway--
Our purchases for the day included:
Cream horns(My favoriteee ~ )
Sushi(They have the BEST sushi.)
Japanese sodas
Rainbow dangos(We'll see if I can cook them right this time.)
Japanese candies
Japanese cheese-flavored chips
Pocky(Milk chocolate.)
Soup-eating bowls
Laterns for my room(One white one with black cranes, and a red one)
and Japanese tea cups.
We probably got some other things too, but they've slipped my mind.
I'd say we had a nice trip, but it was very crowded at the Japanese Market today. Apparantly, they were celebrating the Chinese New Year. They had people dancing underneath those giant dragons, and drums and everything. They even danced their way through the store. And when we first arrived, the ambulence was there because this poor old lady had fallen and needed help getting up . . .
Once we went to South Center, my mom and I ate at the foodcourt there. I was still in the mood for some soup, so I ended up getting Pho Beef Noodle soup while my mom got some red curry and Pho Thai. It was pretty good, but I got a little sad because I could have gotten Fish n' Chips or a Chicken Soft Taco if I looked around. . . After we ate, I took a quick stop at Hot Topic to buy a Hunger Games Tshirt. (District 12 Tribute, anyone?) When we got home, I continued relaxing and talking to Mandy and Mallory. I stumbled upon The Sora Show, which is hilarious. After Mandy left to get some rest, I made myself some Green Tea and used those new tea cups we had bought. And now I sit here writing this update, waiting until tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day!
Goodnight, everyone ~
it's 9:16 PM now on Sunday, January 30, 2011
Cosplay Photoshoot, 2010
A while ago, my friend and I had a cosplay photoshoot before Thanksgiving, because my area of Washington got a visit from Jack Frost early. I'd always wanted to do a photoshoot in the snow, so my friend agreed to do one with me. She cosplayed as Russia from Hetalia Axis Powers and I cosplayed as Kaname Kuran from Vampire Knight. Here are the photos!
When I woke today, I found myself on the sofa in my rec room, and that I had a sore throat and horrible clogged nose. I got up to use the restroom, and started talking to myself to check my voice. It was really bad. I found that I had a horrible cold, after dealing with a sore throat before that, along with an ear infection and horrible alergic reaction' at my Aunt's home during Christmas. Speaking of which, my Christmas was amazing. I was gifted:
An Umineko Cosplay(Ange Ushiromiya) I still need the wig . . .
My facial expression is hilarious because I wasn't ready for the picture xD. A panda pillow pet
AIR TV box set
Three Paramore CDs
The Michael Jackson video game for Wii
A Hunny-senpai plush(Ouran High School Host Club)
and a "Come to the Dark Side, We Have Cookies" bed set that GLOWS IN THE DARK.
Once we got to my aunt's house, we ate Prime Rib with the family, exchanged gifts, and played the Kinect for XBOX360. After this, we sat around and talked for a while. My two cousins started talking about their alter-egos, Corky and Michael. Corky is a boy from an old TV show I'm not fond of, and Michael is a boy with a southern accent and slick attitute.
My aunt goes on to tell about how in the car the other day, my cousin got her Michael on while her sister was singing Whitney Housten. They re-created the performance for us, and my mom happened to have my Kodak on her hands and recorded it.
I tried uploading the video . . . But I guess blogspot doesn't like me . . . Gomenasai . . .
Anyway, back to today. Feeling a need for some laughs, I signed onto MSN to find one of my favorite people was already online, waiting for me like she should. Mai sweet hanny; Mandy. I love Mandy to death. She is probably the most innocent girl you'll ever meet. I can share anything with her, and we're almost exactly the same. Except, I'm a big pervert and Mandy gets all cutesy-blushy at my perverted thoughts<3 She cheered me up really quick! I showed her a Junjou Romantica cosplay video on Youtube which features a chubby Misaki xD When I first watched the video, I couldn't finish it because I was laughing so hard at Misaki's... Size. I know it's rude, but Misaki is a really small guy, so it's funny when large people cosplay as him. Mandy's comment made me burst out laughing. She said that he had a growth spurt xD I was really laughing very hard, and then I started choking myself because of my sore throat. All and All, today was a very laid-back day. My mom came home and we ate dinner, and then I created my blogspot account. I hope that tomorrow I'll have something more excited to blog about, but until then--
Mata ne~
Mal made this for me for my Christmas present ^^
Mandy also made me something, but it was a link *w* and I forgot to save it. . . -is shot~ xwx
